Have you ever had one of those moments when you read a book, hear a speech, or attend a training and then a light bulb goes off? Or when you have just gained an amazing piece of insight or wisdom that you were compelled to share with others? Then quite possibly you’ll find this blog spot a great place to share and grow ideas. Since we cannot possibly read every book that was ever written, go to every training, or listen to every speech, it is essential that this blog be created. It will serve as a forum designed to educate and learn from others focusing on important concepts that you’ll wish you’d known sooner.
Today I would like to share a book that has absolutely TRANSFORMED my way of thinking and developing relationships. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz was recommended to me a few years ago. The book was small and at first, I didn’t give it much thought. Honestly, if it wasn’t mandatory reading from a respected mentor, I am pretty sure I would’ve simply put it in my “rainy day box” and forgotten about it. However, the timing was perfect for this read because I was already on a quest for self-improvement.
How long after getting the book did you wait to read it? I’d put that detail here. For example, was it the next morning after you got it?
A few days after getting the book, I sat down, powered by coffee, and began reading. I was only a few pages into the book when my heart just opened and all the wisdom started to pour in, like a cathartic waterfall. My mind and my heart were enveloped by it and it was a full body experience. I clung to every word and couldn’t stop reading. I know that you will too! Now that I have expressed to you how this book can affect you during the read, just imagine what the book can do for you if you put the words into practice.
By adhering to the Four Agreements, you can not only improve, but transform your personal and business relationships. Trust me, I may not always be perfect in practicing these agreements in every situation, but at least I have some road signs to follow in the map of life.
I recommend reading this book several times, as I did, because each time you gain additional insight. This book aided me to create my path to personal freedom. Besides the Bible, this would be my first recommendation to someone looking to better themselves and their situation. I am so GRATEFUL that this book was put in my hands. Don’t take my word for it, read it, and let me know what YOU think.
